Frequently Asked Questions
How big is my website?
The quickest way to get a rough guess is to use Google. Type in site:<your web address> into Google, and note the number of pages it comes back with in the top right. For example, site:www.silktide.com
This only provides a rough approximate, as the number is how many pages Google has stored of your site, which could be wrong for many reasons:
- Google may avoid some or all of your website
- Your website may have changed since Google checked it
- Both Google and Sitescore will exclude some content (e.g. duplicate pages) differently
We can always provide an accurate count of pages for you when you enquire.
How do I pay?
You can pay online via credit card or by invoice on account.
To pay on account we require you to apply for a credit check. Subject to status we will assign you a credit limit and invoice you on 30 day terms. For Enterprise customers additional payment options may be available.
How long does it take?
Most reports can be completed within one working day. For reports over 12,000 pages we may need 2-3 working days. The first report usually takes longer as we need to set it up for you, subsequently re-testing is usually much faster and can be carried out by yourselves at any time.
How is it installed / used?
The reports are created by the Sitescore software running online on our servers. There is no need for you to install any software or do any work other than request the website report and answer a few simple questions. You only require an Internet connection and a compatible web browser to view your Sitescore reports.
For Enterprise customers, we do offer a solution you can host yourselves.
What web browsers are supported?
Currently Sitescore is compatible with: Internet Explorer 6 or greater, Firefox 2 or greater, Safari 3 or greater, all on Windows, Mac or Linux. Other browsers may be supported but are not guaranteed to work.
Can I print reports?
Yes. However due to the size of large reports (potentially thousands of sheets of paper) Sitescore offers the ability to print only select sections or reduce the level of detail to a manageable size. We recommend that larger reports are explored online for maximum benefit, as results can be drilled down, searched, sorted and compared.
Can I export reports?
Yes, to Word and PDF (free software download required for PDF). Note that the exported reports are essentially copies of the printed reports, and accordingly have less detail in them than the full interactive online reports.
You can export Dashboards and tables from any individual test into Word, Excel or HTML.
Can I compare reports?
Yes, you can compare in two ways:
Of course you need to test the websites you wish to compare before you can compare them. If your organisation has a lot of websites they wish to compare, you might want to consider our Enterprise solutions.
