Our flagship product SiteRay can examine almost any website and suggest how to improve it. Organisations from the FORTUNE 100 to freelance web designers use us daily to review and raise the effectiveness of their sites.

We also make a free tool called Nibbler, which does much the same thing on a smaller scale.

We believe

Results should be meaningful. It's easy to write a tool that says "your website fails these 3.7 billion technical checkpoints". It's far harder to explain why that matters, and what exactly you should do about it. That is our aim.

Software should be invisible. You should only think about what you want to do, not how you have to do it. No-one wants to be asked if they should upgrade their software 'now or later', they just want it to work.

The web is just great. Seriously, we've written love letters to the Internet. This stuff gets us excited and we just have to run out and tell somebody.

Our history

Silktide were founded in 2001 originally as a web development company, building web software and website for clients.

In 2005 Silktide launched Sitescore, which eventually was renamed to SiteRay. The product became an enormous success and has been developed massively since. In April 2008, we split into two - Silktide Studios now specialises in web design for clients, and Silktide Software focuses on our own software products.

In September 2009, Silktide Software launched Nibbler, our free tool for testing websites.
